The Green Wellbeing Alliance

Picture
The Green Wellbeing Alliance (GWA) is a collaboration of local organisations that provide specifically therapeutic outdoor activities. Participants improve wellbeing and health while connecting with nature and other people.

The Centre for Ecotherapy is a founder member of the GWA whose inaugral meetings in 2016 gave members a sense of support and collaboration in what was, and still is to some extent, a fledgling discipline. The Alliance was formed to bring a continuity and commonality to our deliveries, while celebrating and upholding the diversity of our different organisations' land use and styles of output. Equally important was the ability to present ourselves as a cohesive local raft of nature-based interventions, professionally experienced and effectively poised to address our communities' mental and physical health needs.

Funding in 2017 from Brighton and Hove City council, gave us the opportunity to  progress this collaboration, and the developments have borne fruit.

In Spring 2020 the founding members of the GWA were awarded funding from BHCCs Third Sector Commissioning Prospectus.
