The Centre for Ecotherapy wilderness site is a work-in-progress. A beautiful area with mature trees and shrubs, undeveloped and oozing with nature. Slowly and surely we are tugging out the dead and overgrown brambles, shaping the areas and teasing out the structure of what will be a delightful space for ecotherapy workshops, consultations, counselling, contemplation, mindfulness, play, discovery and learning.
The site is alive and vibrating with potential waiting to be released. The first stages of management are well underway and groups and individuals are already using the site and benefitting from its ambience. Open space leads into enclosed, cave-like, space leads out to space of character and curiosity.
We are currently in the process of building a shelter under which groups can be dry and cosy during all variety of weather. Keep an eye on our blog for more information and progress updates!
Our 'drop-in' sessions are devoted to paring back the unwanted growth so as to unlock and liberate the beauty that has up to now been hidden.
Volunteer gardeners help with a variety of activites including:
Included in the vision is sculpture and natural artwork, so not only physical activity is needed but also creative and artistic energy to bring innovation and marvel to the experience.
We meet at the site on a Monday morning, 10am-1pm. For more information click here
